Rheal Ramlakhan Sensei

SKDA Karate Association

The SKDA was founded back in 2001. After training for many years under the JKA, KUGB and other Karate organisations, Sensei Valman decided to start his own club with the blessing of his then Sensei. He built the reputation of the SKDA teaching in schools, local community centres and working alongside charitable organisations in the UK. He has also taught internationally with other organisations.

Sensei has spent many years researching Funakoshi's Karate and its traditional roots from China to Okinawa, into modern Japan. Shotokan Karate has become the most popular style of karate since the 60's and at present many organisations worldwide are going back to their roots trying to find the original Karate before it became a sport. At SKDA we teach a mixture of traditional Karate and modern style self-defence applications, attempting to break down myths and understand Kata. We also teach traditional weapons to mature students.

SKDA welcomes all students. We aim to help you achieve your goals. All our instructors hold valid enhanced DBS and first aid qualifications, with experience of teaching at all levels. We want you to enjoy training with us and have peace of mind that we will do our very best to make you feel welcome and secure in all our clubs...(more)
